KMP 600-S diffDrive: La nueva generación de robots KUKA
21 de septiembre de 2023Mobile platforms must meet strict requirements for industrial use. Because of that, KUKA has designed its collision-free «co-worker» that can take the intern logistics of companies to a new level, especially in the consumer goods industry. In this way, this new robot generation comes to carry out Swift and Safe intralogistics.
In a significant stride forward, KUKA has unveiled the KMP 600-S diffDrive, marking the dawn of a new era for mobile robotics. This cutting-edge generation of mobile robots has been strategically introduced to augment and diversify KUKA’s extensive catalog of logistics solutions, proudly boasting an impressive top speed of up to 2 meters per second.
This latest addition from the renowned German manufacturer, KUKA, emerges as a formidable and versatile solution, poised to meet a wide spectrum of intralogistics demands. It stands as a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment to upholding the highest safety standards, ensuring not only efficiency but also paramount safety in the operational landscape.
When we delve into the core attributes of the KMP 600-S diffDrive model, it becomes evident that this robot offers a substantial load capacity of up to 600 kg, a capacity more than sufficient to cater to the diverse logistics requirements spanning various sectors, such as the consumer goods industry. With the capability to achieve speeds of up to 2 meters per second, this robot comes equipped with a standard IP54 protection rating, enabling it to operate efficiently even when exposed to splashes and dust in its environment.
Moreover, this versatile robot can be enhanced with a state-of-the-art 3D object detection system, granting it the ability to identify obstacles as tall as 2.10 meters. It also seamlessly integrates a system designed to handle pallets from ground level up to heights of 60 mm, showcasing its adaptability to a multitude of tasks.
One of the standout advantages of AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) robots lies in their capacity to work safely in collaborative settings. To bolster this aspect, the KMP 600-S diffDrive incorporates laser scanners that provide reliable oversight of its surroundings, monitoring both equipment and people in motion. For this reason, the product range manager at KUKA, underscores the paramount importance of safety, affirming, «Safety is our top priority.» He further adds, «This is why we’ve integrated eight safety zones at both the front and rear of the KMP 600-S diffDrive, allowing customers to customize them according to their specific requirements, considering factors like vehicle speed and application.»
On the other hand, the robot’s battery endurance is remarkable, enabling continuous operation for a duration of 8 hours. Moreover, in the event of a recharge requirement, it can swiftly rejuvenate to 100% capacity in just 2 hours, responding to prompts from the KUKA.NavigationSolution software. Equipped with a SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) navigation system, the robot fleet is seamlessly interconnected through a WLAN network. Programming and control are facilitated through JAVA, while manual oversight can be exercised through a dedicated controller.
